We believe in a full, healthy life not a life half lived. We understand life has snakes & ladders that mean that it can be difficult to maintain a healthy weight. We work within the context of a busy, random, disorganised life so that
a ‘full life’ and a ‘healthy life’ aren’t mutually exclusive.
We believe that you never stop looking after yourself
We believe that health & wellbeing is an ongoing work in progress, fluctuating as metabolism and life does, with needs changing as we progress from one stage to another.
We believe that our relationship with food doesn’t always come naturally
We believe that eating is a life skill & doesn’t always come naturally so we pick up where nature left off, teaching those skills. We believe there’s a difference between just consuming food for fuel and the joy that savouring
food can bring. Our approach takes both into account.
We believe in humanising science
We believe in harnessing the latest scientific and nutritional knowledge in a way that is human proof, life proof, otherwise what use is it long term? We start with a normal, haphazard life in any study we initiate to torture test
any developments we make. Our laboratory is everyday life.
We believe in the pleasure of food (with balance)
We believe that a life without food that brings us pleasure is a little beige. We want to help people occasion that pleasure but not be obsessed by that pleasure either. We help put in motion a healthier approach both
physically & emotionally to food. And because of this we’re a plan that negotiates with your mind not just your body and its needs.
We believe in sharing
We believe part of the enjoyment of food is sharing that moment with others…eating at the same table, the same meal, from the same plate. To deny people of that is deny them of one of the fundamental pleasures in life. Food
is powerful…we try to harness the good.
We believe in helping people help themselves
We don’t believe that meals in packets are sustainable although they can help. Through simple advice and education we help to develop better habits that after just a little while are so intuitive they just become second
nature.
We believe that learning doesn’t stop
We believe that eating and living well is something that can go off track every now and then so we all benefit from refreshers. Even second nature can come undone when life’s in code red. It’s not failure or weakness, it’s just human, plain & simple & when you haven’t ridden a bike for a while it takes little bit of relearning to ride
smoothly again.
We believe in support
We believe that a bit of understanding, external encouragement & sharing like experiences gives us the motivation to stick with it. That support can be as little or as much as needed & can come in many different
forms.
We believe commonsense can lead to revolutions
We believe in revolutions. We believe they can happen by putting them together given an uncommon sense world of mindless consumption. We use everyday language, everyday currencies so everyone can understand
the WW approach
We believe in learning from others who have learned themselves
We believe that the best teachers & advisors are people who have lived through it themselves. They can speak first hand, offer practical advice. These people (our leaders) are ongoing living proof that WW is
approved by life.
